The Middle Ages of Europe is an important period in the development of European philosophy. The debate over reason and belief has been going on for more than 1000 years, and therefore, it became a thesis of philosophy of great importance. This article is intended to explore the basic process of the debate, analyse its historical background and disclose the great role it has played in the development of European philosophy.
