跨文化翻译中的“异化”翻译价值

On Foreignization Value in Cross-culture Translation

归化和异化这两种翻译文化立场,向来在翻译界引起激烈争论。翻译实质上是两个文化之间的转换,并非局限于符号学或者文字内部。普遍观点认为翻译过程中应更多的考虑把原语的文化,风俗和内涵传达给目的语读者。因此,在翻译过程中我们主张采用异化为主归化为辅的翻译策略。这可从三方面进行阐释:一是异化策略符合翻译标准中"信"的要求;二是翻译中采用异化手段能够更好地传达原语文化,满足译文读者了解原语国家的好奇心;三是翻译中采用异化手段可以丰富目的语语言的词汇和表达方式。

Domestication and foreignization,the two approaches to culture involved in translation,have caused broad arguments for a long period.The common view is that domestication and foreignization should be dealt with moderately.In fact,the process of translation is the process of the exchange of two cultures,only limited in semiotics or something between words.The only purpose of translation is to convey the culture,tradition and deep meaning of the aim language to the target readers.Therefore,the author holds the viewpoint that foreignization should be the main approach in translation.Three reasons are discussed： firstly,foreignization approach conforms to ＂faithfulness＂ of the criteria for translation;secondly,it is helpful to propagate source language cultures to the foreign countries and meet the foreigners＇ curiosity;thirdly,foreignization approach can add some new words and ways of expressions to the target language.
