古代祭祀，立尸即以活着的人充当所祭先人的神象是必具的仪节。卜辞中表明，这一制度在商代业已出现；并用卜筮的方式择定为尸的最佳人选；傧尸之礼也已存在；卜辞中设有男女共尸的祭祀，这与周代礼制有所不同。

In divinatory diction, they have both man and woman as living body, which is different from the rite in Zhou Dynasty.
