Under the theoretical framework of self-organization, the paper makes analysis of Hongjiang ancient city＇s identities, which reveals the law and mechanism of self- organization, the internal and external factors of city＇s growth and development. It comes up some propositions to conserve Hongjiang ancient city with new thinking and method.
