Wang Guo Wei's Personality tragedy was caused by both his suffering in the decline of Chinese traditional culture and his exciting in the entering of west modern culture. This tragedy give his personality theory two contents which are both to reform Chinese traditional personality theory and to use the theory of west modern philosophy and aesthetic. His original personality theory played the key role in the century turn of Chinese literature theory.
