A Tentative Study on Teaching Methods of English for Special Purposes(ESP) in Higher Vocational Colleges

高职院校专业英语教学存在着学生学习主动性不强,教学效果不佳的状况,因此要取得理想的课堂教学效果,应从课堂教学方法上进行探索,提出"任务驱动"的教师模拟法、场景化的角色扮演法、"竞争机制"的小组竞赛法和调节气氛的"大众"活动法等,进一步激发学生学习兴趣,提高专业英语教学效率。

English teaching for special purposes（ESP） in many higher vocational colleges has confronted the problems of students’ lack of learning initiative and the just-so-so teaching effectiveness.To achieve ideal teaching result,the paper puts forward some teaching methods,such as ＂task-driving imitating teacher＂ method,＂scenery role-play＂ method,＂competing-system work group＂ method,＂atmosphere-adjusting activities＂ method and etc.,to arouse the students’ learning interest and promote the teaching efficiency.
