"路"在史铁生的人生历程中具有非常特殊的含义。由于双腿瘫痪,他无法走路;将近四十年,他不断地探寻人的生命困境的缘由与终极希望之出路。从荒诞的命运谜路走向"爱命运"的审美与艺术之路,他经历了漫长的求索之路;至终他坦然认同并走在仰望与奉献的爱愿之路上,完成了他的"过程即目的"的人生突围之路。

＂Road＂ had a very special meaning in Shi Tiesheng＇s life experience.Paralyzed,he was confined to a wheelchair.The helplessness and pain forced him to take up writing,which was his way of living and where his value lay.During some forty years of ＂road quest on the wheelchair＂,he kept on seeking the reasons for the trapped life and the ultimate way out for himself as an individual and the whole human beings.It took him a long time to shift from the puzzlement of absurd fate to the aesthetic and artistic road of ＂loving his fate＂.Finally,he was reconciled to his fate and was happy on his road of faith and dedication,thus completing his breakthroughs in life with the theory that ＂process is purpose＂.
