四十年代粤方言的高入声

On High Entering Tone of Cantonese in 1940s

赵元任在《粤语入门》一书里,粤方言的高入声记为[]5,区别于中入声([]33:)和低入声([]2:或[]22:)。可知四十年代的高入声已经是一个短促的高平调。

It was distinguished different entering tone's value, the high one was [?]5,the middle one was [?]33 and the low one was [?]2 or [?]22 of Cantonese in Y.R.Chao's Cantonese Primer. So, the high entering tone of Cantonese was a short upper lever.
