当代性

Contemporaniety

"当代性"常常与"现代性"交替使用,容易引起理解上的困惑。近年,当代性批评倾向于替代现代性或后代现性,甚至形成了当代性诗学。安德生认为,当代性概念既指审视作者生活时代语境中作者创作的各方面特征,又指让读者意识到作品与当前知性关注的相关性。但是这个定义没有涵盖当代性的丰富意义。本文探讨近年英美文学批评中提到的当代性概念,发现当代性至少包含我们时代性、当代共存性、生命存在性和超越现代性等方面的涵义。

The terms contemporaniety and modernity are often applied in exchange or overlapping,which puzzles the reader frequently.In the recent criticism,contemporaniety comes into a tendency to replace modernity or postmodernism,and even a poetics of contemporaneity has come into being.Anderson thinks that the notion of contemporaneity refers both to viewing various aspects of the writer's oeuvre within the context of his times and to making readers aware of how relevant his writings are to current intellectual concerns;however,the term seems to connote more than that.This paper discusses the concepts of contemporaniety in the recent English and American criticism,thinking that contemporaniety connotes at least the following senses: the nature of our time,the presence of co-existence,the existentiality of life and the transcendence over modernity.
