从中国文化资源重新定义文学

Redefine Literature through Chinese Culture: On the Development of Chinese Literature and World Literature in the Age of Globalization

西方对文学的定义是:文学是虚构,是与现实不同的艺术,体现为诗歌、小说、剧本。这一定义由西方向全球扩张而成为世界性的定义;同时,又在全球化的电子主潮中让文学被边缘化了。但在全球化时代不同文化汇通中,文学实际上最能显示一个文化的特质。如何让文学走出边缘化,而把文化的特质显示出来,就成为一个重要课题。在这一点上,中国古代文化关于文学的定义具有重要的意义。中国古代资源把文学定义为语言之美。任何文体,只要有语言之美,就可以成为文学。这一定义不但让人们重新思考文学和文学的各种类型,以扩大文学的类型,而且使人们有一种新的眼光去理解文学与文化的关系。更重要的是,让文学的品质在全球化时代的各种互动中得到提升。

The definition of literature in the West is that literature is fictive which is different from the reality but a kind of art, and which embodies in three forms, poetry, fiction and drama. This definition become a general thought with the process of expansion of Western culture aroud the world. When e-culture gets its main position in the age of globalization, literature is been peripherized. However literature can presents charateristic of culture in the age of globalization when the various different cultures communicate togather, so it is important to make literature give play to strong points. At this point, the definition of literature from ancient China is able to play its role. It defines literature as the beauty of language. Any form maken from words has light of beauty, it can be called literature. This definition makes us rethink literature, rethink what kind of form can be called literature and geves us a new vision to understand the relation between literature and culture. Impotantly the role of literature will be promoted into a carract position.
