摘要
美国大众文化的兴起与美国工业化的完成和城市化的发展密切相关。20世纪初期社会财富的增加、城市社会生活的变化和大众文化市场的形成,使人们开始追求物质商品消费以外的文化商品的消费,从而形成了大众文化。
American popular culture was much intertwined with the accomplishment of its industrialization and the development of its urbanization. The increase of social wealth, the change of urban social life and the formation of popular cul- tural market in the early 20th century led more and more people start to pursue the spending on cultural merchandise beyond material merchandise, which thus made the popular culture possible.
