OUTLINE/The Metropolitan Opera's final new production of the current season has something in common with its first new productionAnna Netrebko.After portraying Oueen Anna Bolena,Netrebko became Manon(in Massenet's version),the queen of Paris society.Well,she was until she ended up in prison.This is a role that suits Netrebko's voice and her personality very well.Despite some questionahle high notes,her singing was vivid and touching.Matching her as Chevalier des Grieux was Piotr Beczala, who absolutely shone in this role.
