Japanese culture has the character of self-innovation according to different historical circumstances. Based on this perspective, the paper studies the innovations in Japan on the legend of Lady Yang. The versions of Kutu and Atutajingu are the two versions prevalent in Japan on Lady Yang and these two versions had different contents and structure. Studies thereafter finds out that Atutajingu Version does not originate from China, it was the creation in the later half of 13th century during the eastern expedition of Mongolia to Japan.
