ABR service is the new type of service provided by ATM networks which the sources of networks can be used sufficiently. Since the rate based closed loop congestion control is employed by ABR, the QoS is guaranteed. The excellent method for congestion detection is employed by ABR, and so the efficiency of congestion control is guaranteed.
