摘要
根据对中国英语学习者的一次实证调查结果和数据分析,"二语动机自我系统"理论的两个观点在中国英语学习者中得到了验证:"二语理想自我"与传统的"融合性动机"相比,前者与二语动机的相关性更大;"促进型工具动机"和"预防型工具动机"的确代表两个不同的构念。这种动机研究的新角度不但对动机研究本身有意义,而且对英语教学实践领域也有参考价值。
Based on the results and the statistical analysis of one empirical survey among learners of English in China, this article tested and proved the validity of two arguments suggested by L2 Motivational Self System theory:the Ideal-L2-self has more prominent correlation relation with L2 learning motivation than Integrativeness; Instrumentality-promotion and Instrumentality-prevention are two distinct constructs. The new perspective of motivation studies is not only of significance to the L2 motivation research itself but also provides pedagogical implications for the English instruction in China.
