The discussion classes of the research examples bridge the learning of students and the research of the faculties. Integration of optics research examples into optics teaching is helpful for students to understand the basic principles of optics, arouse their interest in learning and research, and cultivate their creativities. In this paper, one example is given to illustrate the usability of research examples in optics teaching. In addition, the prerequisites of applying the research examples in optics teaching are discussed.
