短篇小说《厄歇尔府的倒塌》是爱伦坡恐怖小说的代表作。作者以精炼的字眼、异于常人的想象力和精心营造的氛围,向读者传达着"死亡"的讯息。文章将从构成故事的两大要素即环境和人物两个方面,分析此短篇中死亡主题,指出两个主人公的死亡是注定的命运。
The Fall of the House of Usher is the representative of Edgar Allan Poe＇s horror fiction. The writer disclosed the message of ＂death＂ with selected words, extraordinary imagination and elaborately designed atmosphere. This paper analyses the death theme from two elements, that is, environment and characters that constitute a story, and points out that the death of this two person is a doomed destiny.
