The rise of the immigrant families and the construction of the new local order during the Ming and Qing Dynasties:"Taking the ancient local records and genealogies of Ye County in Shandong Province as the center of study"

经过元末兵燹,山东掖县土著居民锐减,旧的地方秩序被打破。明朝建立前后,大批移民涌入,面对相对平等的竞争环境,呈现出迅速上升、崛起的态势。明中期以来,很多移民家族成员,接连通过科举获得政治资源,逐渐成为地方望族。同时,他们又通过种种途径,逐渐攫取各方面社会资源,终于构建起以他们为中心的地方新秩序。

Since the wars in the last years of Yuan Dynasty, the local population of Ye County Shandong Province reduced sharply and the old local order had been broken. A quantity of immigrants moved here round about the establishment of the Ming Dynasty, showing a tendency of rising rapidly in the face of relatively equal competitive environment. Some family members of the immigrants entered politic through imperial examinations successively and moved from the lower class to prominent families gradually. At the same time, they constructed a new local order by gaining social sources.
