沃尔特.惠特曼是19世纪美国著名诗人,《草叶集》是其一生创作的总汇,也是美国诗歌史上璀璨的里程碑。自楚图南翻译的《草叶集》出现后,我国陆续出版了多个各具特色的译本。这里通过选取楚图南、吴潜诚、李野光以及赵萝蕤四位译者的译本,对惠特曼的经典诗歌Crossing Brooklyn Ferry的翻译语言和行文风格进行评析和比较,从而进一步探讨如何从审美的角度在诗歌翻译中品味各个译者的演绎以及对原文的信实,以最终达到形神兼具的翻译境界。

Walt Whitman is a famous American poet of the nineteenth century,whose works are best represented in his poem collection Leaves of Grass. There have been several Chinese versions of the collection since Chu Tunan first translated it in 1944. The paper compares four versions of Whitman＇s poem Crossing Brooklyn Ferry translated by Chu Tunan, Wu Qiancheng, Li Yeguang and Lucy Chao respectively, focusing on their languages and styles, and further discusses how to balance fidelity and elegance in the translation of poetry.
