The purpose of this study is, from the perspective of cognitive psycholinguistics, to research auditory anxiety (AA) with multimodalities in the first period of interpreting in the settings of modern technology. This cognitive research is based upon Spielberger' s State-Trait Anxiety Theory, Cassady and Johnson' s Test Anxiety Model and Chen and Tang' s experiments. This study, nevertheless, different from the past anxiety holism research, put forward the theory of AA Degrees. Its conclusions are : (1) the degrees of AA can be divided into HA, MA and LA ; (2) HA and LA have negative impacts on auditory perception (AP) and the whole process of interpreting; (3) MA has positive effects on AP and the whole process of interpreting.
