单纯教授英语,并不能保证学生将来能称职地完成用英语进行演讲的任务。对大学生的英语教学不能仅依靠教材上的内容,应设法把学生的主动性和积极性调动起来,让他们通过运用英语激活他们的知识潜能,并通过运用而掌握新的知识与技能。本文阐述了在大学教学中常规性地进行英语演讲训练的重要意义,并探讨了如何使大学生英语演讲活动取得最好的效果。

Teaching English only will not guarantee that college students will be capable to competently perform the tasks of making business presentations in English. Teaching English to college students should not rely on the contents of textbooks only. Instead, the teachers should help students to activate the reserved energy by letting them use English. It is necessary to regularly include the training of English business presentations in our college curricula. This paper expounds the significance of arranging this kind of training and how to ensure the training achieve optimal effects.
