Comparative Study on Chinese and Western Religious Fine Arts

中西方由于历史、文化以及宗教的差异产生了不同的宗教美术,中国以佛教美术为主,西方则主要是基督教美术。中西方宗教美术在历史作用、题材内容以及表现形式等存在诸多相异之处。而正是这种差异,为中西方宗教美术互相促进、互相学习、共同发展提供了有利条件。

Different forms of religious fine arts come into being because of different historical and cultural factors in China and the West. The main form of Chinese fine arts is Buddhist fine arts but that of the West is Christian fine arts. Chinese and Western religious fine arts exist many differences in historical roles, subject matter and forms of representation, these differences provide favorable conditions for Chinese and Western religious fine arts＇ mutual promotion and learning, as well as common development.
