陕西近现代高等教育发展具有两大源头:陕源与京源。在陕源即将断流之际,京源济陕,成为陕西高等教育发展的再生之源;国立西北联合大学的诞生,曾成为中华民族危难时期,支撑和延续中国高等教育的擎天柱石;国立西北联合大学的五校分立,促进了陕西乃至西北地区高等教育的持续发展;其办学传统与精神,对陕西高等教育的后续发展产生了深远影响。

The development of higher education in modern Shaanxi has two sources, Shaanxi and Beijing. When the source of Shaanxi were about to stop, the Beijing source started and became the rebirth of the Shaanxi higher education. The founding of the Northwest National Associated University marks the pillar stone of Chinag higher education development during the national crisis. The founding of the five campuses help to keep a sustainable development of the higher education in Shaanxi and the Northwestern region of China.
