Ministry of Public Health issued Measures for Administration of Health Cards for Residents （Trial） on February 2, 2012 to help realize that residents can seek medical services in various medical institutions of all levels with one universal card. The health card is based on regional health information platform, residents＇ e-health files and e-health records in medical institutions. The card can be used for identification of residents＇ status, storage of basicpersonal health information, and cross-regional and inter-agency data exchange and cost clearance for medical treannent.
