摘要
重意轻言、重质轻文一直是先秦语言哲学的主流,对佛经翻译理论有深远的影响。道安的"五失本三不易"传达了"形式即内容意"的语言哲学,即通过追求语言形式忠实来追求意义内容忠实,实际上反映了佛经翻译对意义的终极追求,和传统语言哲学一脉相承。
The prevailing language philosophy before the Qin Dynasty considered y/ (meaning) primary and yan(word) second- ary and placed zhi (substance) above wen (style), which exercised tremendous influence on China's sutra translation theories. Dan An' s Wushibensanbuyi reveals the language philosophy that identified the word with the meaning of the source text, namely, accuracy to the meaning can only be achieved through accuracy to the word. Word Identical with meaning is a natural develop- ment of traditional language philosophy that prefers meaning over word and embodies the ultimate pursuit of the substance in sutra translation.
