Quoting some examples from the Chinese versions of A·Pushking's novel Evgeny Onegin, the author of the article elucidates show important it is to distinguish and translate appositives and other modifiers correctly in literature translation. If the translator is not able to do this, he will misrepresent the original. The author hopes all the translators will learn from others' strong points to offset their own weaknesses, and pay attention to criticism and selfcriticism. Only in this way can the translators' circles see a lively and free contention atmosphere, in which our translators' undertakings will be able to develop healthily.
