摘要
"石门坎"是贵州省威宁自治县一个边远苗族村寨的地名。上世纪初叶,来自英国循道公会的基督教牧师柏格里进入该地传教,在短短的20年间就奇迹般创造出所谓的"海外天国"和"锡安圣地",世称"石门坎现象"。论文从探讨"石门坎现象"的含义入手,对"石门坎现象"的内容、"石门坎现象"的成因以及"石门坎现象"的衰落等进行探析,指出所谓的"石门坎现象"是一种"时代的产物",是产生并根植于我国黔北山区的一种"区域性的现象",是近代贵州苗族文化发展中的一个特例。
Shimenkan is a remote Miao village in Weining autonomous county of Guizhou province. Early last century, Pollard, a Christian priest from Britain, entered Shimenkan to preach. Within 20 years, ＂Overseas kingdom＂ and ＂Holy Zion＂ known as Shimenkan Phenomenon were miraculously crea- ted. This paper investigates the meaning of Shimenkan Phenomenon and indicates that it is a product of the time. It is a regional phenomenon originated from the northern mountainous of Guizhou province and is a special example of modem Miao culture development.
