Based on a general analysis of the present navigation websites, the authors conclude that constructing professional website will be the tendency of the future development of website. This paper sets out to discuss the significance and innovations of the core periodical navigation website. Based on the theory of information classification and the increasing requirements of the researchers, the paper then takes an example of the research program conducted by the library of Xi＇an Shiyou University to expound the general ideas and specific ways of designing and constructing core periodical website.
