This paper is going to analyze the self defenses and struggles（ depression,reverse reaction, projection, fixation and backwardness） of the heroes in The Sound and the Fury from the perspective of Freudian psychoanalytical criticism,and moreover reveal the wasteland complex of Faulkner and the struggle theme Of this novel.
