This paper, taking construction of the New Jiuyanshan Tunnel, a red clay tunnel with a large section of Baoxi Railway as an instance, makes a choice of the construction program for the intersection between the inclined shaft and large- span red clay tunnel among three alternatives as well as conducts an elaboration and verification of the transformation in the construction way from inclined shaft to main cavity and the adoption of the construction measures.
