The paper makes a summary and analysis of the practical application of such thickening ponds for treating tailings in metallic mines over the recent years.Noticeable results have been obtained through solving the crucial problems encountered in using the ponds with effective technical measures.Finally the paper points out the existing problems found in the thickening system and countermeasures.
