It discusses some benefits of PTN compared to SDH/MSTP, the necessity of standardizing and perfecting service configuration model. It discusses the interconnection of PTN and SDH/MSTP, the scheme of the PTN connecting to the core network, layer 3 and synchronization of PTN. It looks forward to the technology of 40GE, ROADM and the improvement on the size and pow- er-consuming of the PTN facilities.
