＂ I＂,the narrator in Rebecca, is apparently plain and dull, but actually thought-provoking. After Maxim de Winter, a billionaire, seems to fall in love with ＂1＂, ＂1＂ successfully becomes Mrs. de Winter, an angel in his house. When Maxim＇ s murder of Rebecca is on the verge of exposure, ＂I＂ willingly acts as her husband ＇ s accomplice by abusing her discourse, and finally turns into a puppet in the male - centered sociely. Spiritually, ＂1＂ has internalized male- centered morality and value; physically, ＂I＂, without any income, totally depends on her husband when living in Manderley, her husband＇ s house. What ＂I＂ narrates in the story is inevitably prejudiced, the reliability of the narration being doubtful.
