As a western contemporary literary criticism, Reader-Response criticism focuses on readers, and deals mainly with readers＇ horizon of expectation, dynamic reading process and subjective initiative. From this perspective, the article makes a study of absence and uncertainty in the novel The Killers, exploring the influence on readers＇ reading and comprehending and on translation.
