摘要
本文在文学伦理学批评的视角下,将文本重回当时特定的历史环境中,探讨女主人公莉莉.巴特悲剧的根源。表面上莉莉是在上流社会对其"道德败坏"的谩骂中死去,实际上她以他者的眼光生存,无法定义自己的身份,因此,她在解开伦理结时出现了困惑,在现实的身份选择之中与理想的道德构建之中出现了矛盾。
From the viewpoint of ethical literary criticism, the article attempts to explore the main cause of Lily Bart＇s death under the specific historical environment. Lily seemed to have died from the curse of her moral decay by the upper-class. In fact, she lived a life with the ＂other＂ identity so that she could not find herself while untying the ethical knot. There was a conflict when she chose her realistic identity and established her ideal morality.
