摘要
"贪财为万恶之源"被认为是《雅典的泰门》一剧的主题,传统上认为是金钱和贪婪毁灭了泰门。本文从中国传统价值观中的义利观、居富之道,以及个人价值与社会责任之间的平衡解读该剧,认为是"君子爱财,取之无道","取之无度,用之无节"和违背个人价值与社会责任之间的平衡之道这三重因素共同导致了泰门的毁灭。
＂The love of money is the root of all evil＂ is regarded as the theme of the play Timon of Athens. It is money and greed that destroy Timon. Interpreting the Shakespearean play from the Perspective of traditional Chinese values on righteousness, benefit and wealth, and of the balance between individual values and social responsibilities, this article concludes that ＂dishonorable means of getting money, extravagance in dealing with wealth＂ and ＂imbalance between individual values and social responsibilities＂ altogether lead to Timon＇ s destruction.
