摘要
澳大利亚著名作家大卫.马洛夫的小说《大世界》,巧妙地借用对小说标题"大世界"的双重反讽,分别从空间维度和历史维度对文化认同这个广为后殖民作家关注的主题进行了探讨。与同类题材的小说相比,《大世界》并没有过多地描述在后殖民语境下作为文化认同的主体的个人所面临的两难困境,而是通过发挥主观能动性,人们克服困境,构建自己的文化身份,找到真正的精神家园的可能。
The Great World, a novel of David Malouf, the famous Australian writer, deals with the theme of cultural identification, which attracts much attention, from space dimension and history dimension, skillfully making use of the dual irony in the title "the great world". Comparing with novels of similar subjects, The Great World does not describe too much of the cation in the postcolonial context. Instead, this through people's exerting initiative, overcoming dilemma in which individuals are searching for cultural identifinovel finds the possibility of constructing the true spiritual home difficulties and constructing their own identity.
