Application of Communicative Translation Theory to Chinese-English Translation of Public Signs

首先分析了公示语在我们生活中起着的非常重要的作用,然而,公示语汉译英的现状却不尽人意,翻译中存在的错误相当普遍,从而使目标读者困惑,引起交流障碍。为了解决这些问题,通过运用有关交际翻译理论的方法,尽量避免公示语汉译英中的错误。

Nowadays public signs play a very important role in our daily life. However, the present situation of the Chinese-English （ C-E ） translation of pubic signs is far from satisfactory. Errors are prevalent in C-E translation, which would be bewilder target audience and result in barriers of communication. In order to solve the vexatious errors, the use of the theory of communicative translation method should be avoid public signs translation errors.
