职业适应能力和终身学习能力的培养是高职教育重要的教学任务。研究和开发基于社会需求、以职业能力为导向的网络英语自主学习系统,实施多媒体课堂教学与英语网络自主学习相结合的教学模式是培养顺应社会需求、能自主学习和终身学习的应用型人才的必然要求。实践证明,这一教学模式不仅有利于提高学生英语学习质量与英语素质,而且有助于提升学生职业能力和人文素养。

Cultivation of students＇ occupational adaptability and lifelong learning ability is one of the impor tant tasks of teaching in higher vocational education. Research on professional competenceoriented auton omous online learning model of vocational English is a response to community needs and an inevitable re quirement for the cultivation of applied talents with selflearning and lifelong learning ability. Practice has proved that it not only helps improve students＇ English quality hut also helps enhance students＇ profes sional competence and humanities.
