Network Catchwords and Netizens' Mentality Examination

网络热词通常围绕社会日常生活和社会重大事件、热点话题展开,是社会人以网络主体身份在网络中进行信息收集﹑发布和交换时使用的频率较高的词汇,具有时代性﹑丰富性﹑互动性﹑新颖性﹑多样性﹑简明性和风趣性等特征;网络热词映照了当下网民的种种心态,如矛盾﹑冷漠﹑忧虑﹑调侃﹑猎奇﹑掩饰等等。

Language is a mirror which reflects society. The development of society, especially the de- velopment of network technology causes network catchwords to emerge one after another. This paper firstly makes an introduction to the definition of network catchwords and their features, which include cur- rentness, richness, interactivity, originality, diversity, simplicity and humor. Then, in the light of net- work catchwords, it makes an analysis of the netizens＂ mental states （including contradiction, indifference, anxiety, tease, simplicity, novelty, cover up, etc. ） in the hope of rendering a right interpretation to the catchwords.
