On the Study of Appraisal Theory and Its Application

J.R.Martin在Halliday系统功能语言学人际功能的基础上提出了评价理论。该理论由态度、介入、级差三大子系统组成。而文学作品是人类进行人际交流的一种主要载体,因此,根据评价理论来研究文学作品,可以使人们对文学语篇研究分析更加的精密化和系统化。

Based on Halliday＇s personal function of systemic functional linguistics, J. R. Martin introduces the appraisal theory which is composed of three subsystems： attitude, engagement, and gradation. Given that literary works are a good carrier of personal communication, we can study these works with appraisal theory. Therefore, we can make our study on the analyses of literary woks more precise and systemic.
