An Analysis of Xu Xiake's Geographical Thought

本文主要论述了徐霞客地理学思想形成的来源、表现形式和历史地位。认为徐霞客地理学思想的产生具有重要的社会、家庭背景;其思想主要表现为重视实地考察的科学精神、朴素的辩证思想、鲜明的唯物主义思想和先进而独特的地理学研究方法;而徐霞客是中国古代优秀的地理学思想家,其总结和完善了中国古代地理学研究的方法,形成了中国古代地学研究的基本风格。

This paper mainly discusses the source,form of expression and historical status of Xu Xiake's thoughts on geography.It deems that the formation of Xu's geographical thought has significant social and family background.His thoughts are mainly shown in his scientific spirit of emphasizing field investigation,simple dialectical thought,vivid materialism and advanced and unique geographical research methods.Xu is identified as a great geographical thinker in ancient China.He had summarized and perfected the research methods of Chinese ancient geography,and formed the basic research style of Chinese ancient geography.
