Assessment Parameters of the Application of Solar Cell Technologies in the Built Environment

摘要 This paper presents a comprehensive overview of the different requirements for applications of solar cells in the built environment, particularly for the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region. The authors emphasize the assessment of parameters additional to the cost and efficiency of the cells to make a more informed choice of the PV technology to use in specific buildings. They also emphasize the need for the wide use ofphotovoltaics in the built environment to produce electricity in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region and briefly mention the efforts being made in this regard.
