In this paper we suggest a new way of vertical prediction for wave impedance or interval velocity by using the vertical broadband constrain inversion(VBCI), and briefly describe its fundamental theory and processing steps. A prediction result from the real log data shows that our VBCI procedure is effective and reliable on the vertical prediction practice.
