The stable ignition mechanism of burners is analyzed, the design concept of pulverized coal burners with small oil nozzles is introduced,and the design method of such kind combustion installations with small oil nozzles is put forward for the first time. The calculated oil economizing rate of pulverized coal burners with small oil nozzles concides well with the on--site actually measured values. The method is recommended to he used for the design calculation of small oil nozzle's capacity of such kind pulverized coal burner.
