This article gives an introduction to the welding issues of the 09MnNiDR used as the main material for low temperature tankers,such as qualification for welding procedures, testing method, welding process control and welding results. It focuses on the discussions about the factors that may affect the tenacity of the steel at low temperature impact condition as well as the approach to improve the tenacity of the steel.
