Thinking on the Development of Modern Prints in Xinjiang

新疆现代版画同内地一样,开始于上世纪30年代末,到如今已有80年的发展历程,这其中有繁荣的阶段,也有低迷的时期,但是,从其本身的艺术性和印制质量来说,新疆版画是在不断波动中上升发展的。对于新疆版画的未来,不要盲目乐观,以为还会像以前一样无限繁荣;也不要哀痛不振,觉得新疆版画会走向灭亡,一蹶不振。它会在后来版画家的不断努力下,逐渐成为新疆乃至全国艺术花园中独具特色的奇葩。

Modern engravings of Xinjiang began at the end of 1930s, the same as mainland. Now it has developed for 80 years. In its process, there is a period of prosperity, but also the downturn. But from its own artistic and printing quality, engravings of Xinjiang is rising in constant fluctuations. We are not blind optimistic about its future. Of course we don＇t think it will die out or be distressed. Modern engravings of Xinjiang will gradually become the characteristics of Xinjiang and the world in the efforts of engravingartists.
