Features of language life in China today

中国语言生活具有如下一些重要的时代特征:"双言双语"的语言生活初步形成;虚拟语言生活快速发展;中国"语言地图"在快速改写;快速的城市化进程急需语言规划;国内国外两个语言大局需统筹兼顾。准确把握、深入认识这些语言国情,处理好语言关系,管理好语言生活,有效提升公民语言能力和国家语言能力,最大限度地发挥语言产业对社会经济的推动作用,履行好国际语言义务等等,是国家语言规划的重要任务,也有许多崭新的学术课题。

In China today,the language life exhibits some noticeable features:multi-language and multi-dialect phenomena are coming into being;internet-based language use is rocketing;the Chinese 'language atlas' is susceptible to constant redrawing;the rampant urbanization makes the overall language planning necessary;growing domestic demand for learning foreign languages and the promotion of Chinese abroad are calling for a balanced planning,etc.The main tasks of the state language planning include a full and deep understanding of the language situation,a proper treatment of the relationship between languages,an efficieat promotion of language competence of the people and the state,a maximal use of multiple language resources,and undertaking international obligations.
