Guangdong's United Front Work and the Transformation of Democratic Parties' Local Organizations in the early Period of New China

新中国建立后,中国的政党体制是中国共产党领导的多党合作与政治协商制度,各民主党派承认中共的领导地位,成为参政党。但民主党派广东省地方组织在思想上、组织上等多方面都不适应这一新的角色。中共华南分局统战部将对民主党派的统战工作视为统战的首要工作,积极协助民主党派进行思想建设、组织建设,领导民主党派参加新中国的各项建设。在中共的领导下,民主党派逐步适应了参政党的角色,并成为中共领导地位得以实现的重要因素。

After the founding of new China,Chinese party system is the system of multi-party cooperation and political consultation under the leadership of the Communist Party of China,various dem- ocratic parties recognize the CPC's leadership position and as participating parties. But local organizations of Guangdong Province's Democratic Parties could not adapt to this new role ideologically and organizationally. The United Front Department of South China Branch regarded united front work of Democratic Parties as the primary work of the united front,actively assisted Democratic Parties to carry out ideological construction and organizational building,and led Democratic Parties to participate the constructions of new China. Under the leadership of CPC,Democratic Parties gradually adapted to the role of participating parties and became the important factor to realize the CPC's leadership position.
