Main Obstacles of Bibliographic Data Standardization in China

书目数据标准化是实现文献资源共建共享和联机联合编目的基础与前提。我国书目数据标准化面临的主要障碍包括:英文文献编目中MARC格式的选用不统一,编目系统个别字段功能的设计不规范,对简化编目的认识不统一,《中国机读目录格式使用手册(修订版)》存在不当之处,对多卷书的处理不统一,联合编目机构之间缺乏协调,等等。

The bibliographic data standardization is the foundation and prerequisite for the realization of co-construction and sharing of literature resources and online union cataloguing. There are some main obstacles of the bibliographic data standardization in our country, such as the disunity selection of the MARC format for English literature cataloguing, the non-standard design of individual field functions in cataloguing system, the disunity understanding of simplifying catalogue, having some improper places in Chinese Machine Readable Catalog Format Manual （revised edition）, the disunity processing of multi volume books and lack of the coordination of union cataloguing mechanisms, and so on.
